Super hero Fundraising Day

Yesterday the whole school helped raise money for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Watford general hospital.

In July 2017 Mr Brown’s (our PE coach) son, Harrison, was born 8 weeks prematurely weighing just 3lb 4oz and was cared for by the amazing staff at SCBU for 5 weeks before being allowed to go home.

During his time in Special Care Mr Brown came to realise that the unit was not fully government funded and relied on donations to be able to function properly after seeing Harrison sleeping in a cot that was donated to the hospital in 1978.

In August 2018 Mr Brown and 11 old school friends (Mary’s Boys) will be climbing the 3 highest mountain peaks in the UK immediately followed by a 2 day 220 mile cycle home from Wales to help raise funds for the Special Care Unit.

The children had a great day completing in the super hero fun run dressed in their own Super Hero and some in football team outfits.

If you were unable to donate yesterday but still want too, please use the ink below: . All donations made will go directly to the Special Care Baby Unit to help fund new incubators, staff training and cots for very special babies. Thank you to all of our parents for their generosity, we have a running total of £471.00
