Walk to school week
It was another successful walk to school week here at OLSJ. Mrs Harty and her dedicated team of JTAs kicked off the week with designing a poster to promote healthy travel. There were some very talented artists amongst the walkers, scooters and bikers! On Tuesday the children enjoyed a refreshing smoothie to start the day. On Wednesday we offered all walkers, bikers or scooters a chance to dine with us and share breakfast. We also had a visit from our old friend Debra the Zebra. She was very excited to hear about the wonderful travel activities we had done so far at OLSJ as always; she gave us an important message about travelling safely. We were reminded to stop, look, listen and think before we cross the road. Debra also brought along her sunhat and a water bottle to protect her from overheating during the lovely sunshine we have been having lately. And as if that wasn’t enough, we ended our week with a family and friends’ obstacle course. It is safe to say we had a huge number of families leaving the car behind this week and deciding to join us to help promote our special week. Thank you to all of my JTAs who worked extremely hard!
