Coronavirus Anti-infection Spread Plan – March 2020
We are continuing to increase our plan to encourage good hygiene and to limit our community’s potential exposure to the virus.
All the children have been taught to wash their hands correctly. We have stocked all bathrooms with soap and have put in place additional antibacterial cleaning of frequently touched areas, such as door handles, every day. The children will be washing their hands throughout the day at appropriate times, e.g. when entering school and before lunch. We have agreed to prop all classroom doors open so there is little need for children and staff to touch door handles.
Effective from 17th March, and until further notice, we will be implementing the following changes to the normal operation of the school:
· If your child is experiencing a new cough or a fever (even if symptoms are mild), they must self-isolate for 14 days. During self-isolation children should be at least 2 metres away from everyone at home. All siblings must be kept off school for 14 days too. These absences will be authorised.
· We will be postponing all trips.
· Swimming sessions for Year 3 are cancelled.
Possible Closures, and provision for children
Current advice is for schools to remain open. However, we may be forced to close if the number of teachers self-isolating reaches a significant number and our staff numbers are unsafe and would mean that we could not safely operate. In this instance, and for children self-isolating the children should use Mathletics, Spag.com and Rockstars each day. There will also be year specific materials made available for your child to use at home. Details to follow. As the government and local authority send through any additional guidelines or advice, rest assured that we will act upon these promptly.
